Are immunizations required for enrollment?
To comply with Texas state regulations, Little Learning Grove follows the immunization requirements set by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Families are expected to provide up-to-date vaccination records or an approved exemption as outlined by state law.
The state requires vaccinations for diseases such as measles, polio, whooping cough, and others. A full list of required immunizations can be found on the Texas DSHS website.
Texas allows exemptions for medical reasons (with a doctor’s documentation) and for reasons of conscience, including religious beliefs. Parents requesting an exemption must submit a notarized affidavit from the Texas DSHS. While we cannot disclose individual immunization statuses due to privacy laws, we follow all Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
Is LLG able to support students with special needs?
We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all children at Little Learning Grove. We understand the importance of meeting the unique requirements of each child, and we strive to accommodate diverse needs to the best of our ability. While we may not have specific programs tailored to every individual circumstance, we have experienced teachers who are trained to meet the unique needs of our students. If we feel that your kiddo would be a good fit for our learning environment we will work closely with your family to create a plan that ensures your child's success and comfort within our preschool setting. Prior to enrollment a meeting will be scheduled with our team and your family/kiddo to better understand your child's needs and how we can best support them.
Is the school in good standing with the neighbors and neighborhood?
We have a great relationship with our neighbors! 7 of our students live within 2 blocks of our school! We want this school to be a place where local community is built.
Additionally, our school is fully compliant with all local regulations. The property is zoned for educational services, and we completed the commercial building permit process to change the certificate of occupancy from residential to school use. We are in good standing with the City of Austin, Texas Child Care Licensing, and all other governing bodies.
Some families worry that the school might face issues, but we want to assure you that we’ve taken every necessary step to operate properly. We’ve communicated openly with all relevant authorities and maintain full compliance with all requirements. Our school is here to stay!
